OUR PASTOR
Rev. Erin Kobs began serving as pastor in October 2020. She is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. Active in her high school youth group & Presbytery Youth Council, she began to feel a call to ministry. She attended Maryville College in Maryville, TN receiving her bachelor’s degree in Religion & Sociology. After college, she attended Western Kentucky University for a master’s in arts degree in Counseling & Student Affairs, while interning at The Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green. She attended Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, receiving her Master of Divinity degree in 2009. Ordained in 2010, she has served churches in Eastern Pennsylvania & Southwestern Minnesota prior to coming to Punxsutawney. She is currently a Doctor of Ministry student at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in the Creative Writing & Public Theology.
She is quite passionate about the church, especially how the church can be a source of love & grace in God’s world. While some might believe the church is dying, she firmly believes that God is calling the church in new ways & we must always remain open to the Spirit’s calling. Erin shares her life with her orange tabby cat named Watson, loves a good cup of coffee, and truly believes green M&Ms taste better than all other flavors. |
